South East Northumberland Stroke Support Group was set up in Bedlington by Ann and Bill Wade as a support group for stroke survivors and their carers. The group is administered a committee of people who have survived stroke, or carers, who fully understand the problems of living with stroke.

Members vote annually to elect a committee for the administration of the group.

In 2011 we opened our second venue, Cramlington, opening up our services to the wider community of South East Northumberland.  Although we have now ceased to meet in  Cramlington we hope to return when we find a suitable venue.

In 2013 we became a registered charity, showing that the work of the group is recognised nationally as well as locally.

We have regular visiting speakers, and entertainers, and we take part in activities, all to cover the differing  needs of people with stroke  We also offer trips out locally and further afield.

The current committee were all elected at our October 2017 AGM.
